Never, Ever Any Chemicals!
For the winter, we almost exclusively utilize our indoor growing trailers. I say almost, because we are growing some root veggies in the greenhouse this fall we are going to try to store for the winter shares. That being said, the share will consist mostly of leafy veggies with some herbs and other crops.
Off the top of my head, the list looks like this:
Lettuce, Arugula, Kale, Chard, Mizuna, Tatsoi, Bok Choi, Pea Shoots, Basil, Cilantro, Leafy Asian Greens, Spinach, Mustard Greens, Beet Greens, and probably some stuff I'm forgetting about. For fall root veggies we are growing carrots, beets, turnips, and radishes
The winter share pick up will be at the Farm (41405 County Road 38A in Strawberry Park) from Wednesday Through Saturday.
Join us for an absolutely delicious winter season of fresh veggies.
Yes, that's me, Farmer Tim, in the photo :-)
Single shares are no less than 5 items. Double shares are no less than 10 items. When we have extra produce we pass it on to you. A typical minimum half share would be two heads of lettuce, one bok choi, Basil, and Arugula. Full shares would be double that.
At Buffalo Pass Farm, we're proud to feed our community absolutely chemical free non-gmo veggies! We use regenerative farming practices (including beneficial insects - see photo) to ensure that our crops are healthy and free from harmful chemicals. It's a little known industry secret that organic labeling now allows for the use of certain chemical pesticides and herbicides. Because the chemicals are derived from a plant, they get a pass, but they are still nasty chemicals. We feel this is a travesty and never, ever use chemical treatments! While you are supposed to be certified to call yourself organic, you can do the math :-)
We love to hear from you about our veggies. Email , text, or call us, and we will get back to you soon.
